PRIORITY #1 FOR MIDLIFE WOMEN

This post is the third and final post in my midlife women’s series.

I myself am a midlife woman who, having worked in health and wellness for 30 plus years, believes that the health and wellness industry is not serving us. In fact, it’s creating barriers to well-being!

In my first post in this series I shared three areas where the wellness industry has let us down the most:

  1. By ignoring the truth—we’re changing! Our hormones are changing, our bodies and minds are changing. We’re transitioning from childbearing years to wisdom years. The mainstream wellness industry, with its focus on youth, is not making space for this very simple and profound truth.

  2. Failing to offer individualized solutions—because we are changing, we need tailor made solutions. And we need to be supported with respect and patience by wellness professionals and program providers.

  3. Creating psychological damage by promoting the falsehood that Youth and Health are equated. Lost your youthful body and face? Then you’ve lost your value. That’s what we’ve been told since we were young girls.

In my second post in this series I shared three things midlife women need to know about their health and wellness:

  1. We are not small men!

  2. Trust your inner knowing!

  3. Genetics and lifestyle matter!

I also emphasized the truth: THERE IS NO ONE ANSWER. No single solution optimizes your well being.

There is however, what I call priority #1: CALM CLARITY

I’m here to invite you to shift your focus now that you’re in your wisdom years. Go from what you’ve been told to do since you were young: diet and exercise so you look and feel like society’s idealized woman to: diet and exercise and sleep and socialize to LOVE YOUR LIFE.
